What are you currently offering at be free?
I am currently offering therapeutic Kundalini Yoga on Monday evenings and Ancestral Lineage Healing workshops at Be Free. For the summer season our Kundalini classes are designed in energetic alignment with the Mayan Chol’qui calendar, exploring how Aquarian Age teachings intersect with a different cultural context describing a similar epoch shift.
How did you get into ancestral Healing?
I got into Ancestral Lineage Healing during Covid when my father died and we had unresolved business. At the time I was pursuing advanced therapeutic Kundalini yoga training to help my daughter deal with severe anxiety embedded in her nervous system as an infant when she was abandoned at a bus stop in India. While the breathwork, asana and mantra helped calm and shift symptoms it didn't address the root cause. I’m a root cause girl. I’ll just keep digging until I find it. Ancestral Lineage Healing addressed the root cause of several generations of inherited trauma from her female Indian ancestors. Her healing inspired me to specialize in Ancestral Healing for Adoptive families, helping people who do not know their genealogy receive medicine for epigenetic inheritances from very wise and well ancestors.
Tell us about the water project! What motivated you to take this on?
I am currently leading a project called Reuniting The Waters, a source-to-sea prayer journey to heal the Colorado River. The river that carved the majestic Grand Canyon is dying, strangled by diversions, dams and drought. Her headwaters are diverted, she no longer reaches the ocean. We broke a river and the cycle of life between the mountains and the sea. My team of 16 river women are offering water from the Sea of Cortez to the headwaters of the Colorado, Green and San Juan rivers in August. These headwaters will travel with us down past all the diversions and dams to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in September, to be offered to the oldest exposed rock on the planet called Vishnu Schist, asking Earth Mother herself to rise up and help release the dams in the human psyche that are holding our collective consciousness stuck in a repeating pattern of destruction. A prayer to release all the dams on our sacred rivers and bring us into right-relationship with the waters. When we emerge from the canyon in mid-October, we’ll drive around Hoover dam to the Mexican border where the river runs dry and offer these waters in a prayer for forgiveness as we sing the river home. Finally, at the Sea of Cortez, we will reunite the waters to restore her to wholeness.
What is most alive for you right now in your world?
I think I have been called to do this by my well and wise ancestors because our lineage became so separated from their powerful connection to water and river spirits in our indigenous days of old. I am called to put my menopausal wisdom and 30 years of river experience to good use!
